An Apple a Day...

Woohoo!!! I'm so excited! Remember the 1950's photography competition that I won a wee while ago?  Well yesterday I finally received the prize... a white 8gb iPod Touch, so pretty!

A big HUGE thank you to Kath from Destination Manawatu for organising to get my new toy to me... You're the best Kath!

So yesterday I was trying to figure out how to work it, my son has already put games on it, I've taken picts on it and using i-cloud all the picts from my i-Phone are now easily found on the iPod as well... pretty cool huh?  Anyway Miss Parnz is home tonight and she's the iPod queen so the kids and I will have to get some lessons from her...

Verdict: as far as I can see, an iPod touch is the same thing as as iPhone4s, just that its not a phone... although, I called the iPod from my iPhone using facetime and we had a little giggle because we were both in the lounge, but that was fun!  So in actual fact if I were an iPad... I'd call the iPod touch 'Mini Me'.

We're going to have fun learning the in's and out's of
the iPod touch...

Do you have any hints or advice for me?

SUPER SUNDAY... a new dress and old cowboy boots

Winter is just around the corner, there's a new freshness in the air and silence in the trees. I always love our winters... our town is always so pretty in her Winter dresses.  I'm really going to have to get out with the old canon and take some photos of her Autumn dresses too...

Speaking of dressing, its time to pull out the boots YAY!

We went to the park and here is my TCD dress, its a beautiful 'overdress' that can be worn over anything, In this post I have it over my black maxi t-shirt dress from The Warehouse which goes pretty perfect.... I've knotted the dress underneath as Caroline showed me, I like it like this, but its also pretty unknotted as it flows and falls really nicely.

Jacket: Grace Hill (Ezibuy)
Accessories: Buttons (funky Junkie) and a $1 thrifted Belt (knotted)
Shoes: Cherry Cowboy Boots (Trade Me) - I love the look my boots give this dress, it's been pretty hard to wear my boots with the right outfit, this is only the second time I've worn them... so I'm happy that they look pretty great!
Photos: Ifie, Instagram, Miss Nay Nay.

Hmmm... I wonder what will be for next Super Sunday,
I'll surprise you... and probably myself as well hehe!

Girls Day Out...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
La la laaaa!

Yesterday was wonderful!!! 4 of us took off to Palmerston North for a little shopping spree day in honour of a 30th Birthday for Mrs Prime (as in 'Optimus Prime' lol).

So... We started at Ezibuy... but the store seems to have shrunk, everything felt squashed and we had to watch that we didn't knock clothes of the racks and unfortunately there was nothing for any of us here, so off we went and by then we're starving so we hit The Plaza  food court, just in time for a yummy late lunch...

Straight after lunch we did The Plaza circuit, starting at Bling where 'Miss Nay Nay' and 'Mrs N' brought a beautiful shoulder bag each, then we popped into each clothing store as we passed them... City Chic was amazing... we tried on so much and oh'd and ah'd quite a lot!

By the time we reached Glasson's My 'Mummy' and 'Miss Parnz' had arrived and 'Miss Parnz' was on a serious mission to help 'Mrs Prime' find some beautiful bargains... so it was double time in the changing rooms.
Surprisingly (but not really) the best place was KMart! Full of great and beautiful bargains. 'Mrs N' was on a roll! So we spent a good chunk of time in here... Stopping for a frozen yoghurt's as well...

Suddenly, it was 5.20pm and all the stores started closing, so it was a quick rush around to get those last chance bargains...
We brought our Girls Day Out to a close at China Inn Restaurant for dinner, the host was wonderful and the food was "Oh my goodness - SO GOOD!"

Then it was off home to our wonderful 'babysitting' hubbies and kiddies...
Don't you love a Girls Day Out?
It's not really often we do it, finances and lack of free time don't allow it more than once a year or so... but whether it's 2 of you or 10 of you, sister's or friends,
it's always a good day out.
When was your last great Girls Day Out?

My Ganama's dress...

I love this dress.

It was ANZAC day on Wednesday and I thought I would wear this dress to work on Thursday because I felt... hmmm I suppose I felt sentimental...  I'm really grateful for the men who went off to war to fight for our country, to keep their grandchildren free from bondage and incarceration.  What a beautiful country we live in and I'm very glad that I have the freedom of speech, might and mind, that I'm able to share it with you...  I love New Zealand.

Today I'm truly inspired...

Yesterday I met Founder and Creative Director of The Carpenters Daughter, Caroline Marr, when I went to check out the TCD pop up shop.

I tried a couple of things on... oh'd and ah'd more than a few times... as I came out of the dressing room wearing the black Nautical Dress I bumped right into her.  It was like I have known her for ages... and boy!  Is she trendy or what?!?! Yes she is!

Anyway today I ended up going back and buying said dress... and had a good little chat with Caroline, I found out the following...

  • she's a family girl, in fact working with her in the pop up shop was her sister in law Tracey, how cool is that!?!
  • She's super trendy... of course this is a given being the head of a lead fashion house.
  • She's got the most fabulous personality, I enjoyed my little 15 minutes with her and she was very supportive about my blog.
  • She has the most brilliant smile!
TCD was established in 1990 and I remember driving past the Takapuna store in 1999 and thinking "hmmm that looks like a funky shop".  Now it has grown so much!  Including an online store. Also having the store here in Masterton was so fab and further proof of TCD's awesome growth, growth that has obviously stemmed from plenty of hard work and determination...

Tomorrow they head to Wanganui, if you're up that way go and check them out and have a chat...

You know a few years ago, my mother in law asked me what I really wanted to do... I think I was having career issues at the time... anyway I said "I want to be the Trelise Cooper for the big girls" I laugh when I think about it now... but today I realise that "I want to be the Mrs C for me".

The Carpenter's Daughter has reiterated to me that I can be whatever I want to be... and thanks to her I am heading to bed tonight a truly inspired woman.  I hope I've passed some of it on to you too...
