A Few of my Favourite Things & My Hot New Boyfriend...

Ok Ok...  no, not really... haha!  You know that I'm happily married with 4 beautiful kids and a very cool hubby right?

The thing is... I'm kinda like totally crushing on Mr super-cool-rockin'-tattooed-to-the-hilt-bad-boy-Adam-Levine... yeh not sure how he suddenly came to be on my almost 40 year old radar, but when I introduced  him to Mr C as my new Ifie screen-saver he responded with "ugh! he's a skinny little runt" lol...

He cracks me up!

Anyway its been a long time since I did an "A Few of My Favourite Things"  post, so here we go...

Current Favourite song
"Daylight" by Mr Levine himself... and skinny-little-runt or not, there is no doubt about that fact that this man can sing!  Here he is with Maroon 5, singing it live on The Voice...

Favourite line from Current Favourite song:
Here I am staring at your perfection,
in my arms, so beautiful...
and by the sounds of it, it's the favourite line of every woman in that audience too... lol...

Ok... are you done drooling... a-hem... moving on...

Favourite blogs right now...
I haven't spent a lot of time in the last few months wandering around blog-land so I made a concerted effort over the last few days... and just Look at these absolute gems of fab NZ Vintage blogs...

Both these gorgeous ladies give me green goose bumps of greedy envy with their supper stunning vintage dresses.  I love their style perfectly!

You find lots more awesome blogs from New Zealand right HERE

Favourite Family time this week...
The C Family and Nana, were asked to do a little photo shoot for some publications going out from work, we had a ball of a time and here are a few of my favourite shots...

Aren't they beautiful?  Yes!  They are!  Even if I do say so myself! Haha!  I really enjoyed watching the photographer work, he was a real pro and had all the gears, I think I learnt quite a bit just watching...

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend... I have a little reoccurring something wrong with my ear, but it seems to be coming right for the moment...

Till next time

A Pretty Portrait...

I'm happy to say that after a trying, exhausting and painful few days, Utah-Beth is recuperating at a good pace and Holly, Beth's daughter, has been keeping us updated via Facebook.  Thank you for all your prayers and I hope you continue to get back to your old self soon my friend xox

Today, my daughter and I decided to have a quick photo shoot just outside in the garden.  We dressed her up in old time Maori style costume and I kept the style of the shots vintage.  I think they came out really gorgeous!

What do you think?

I love these, my daughter Miss Maizee is so photogenic!
I hope you love them too...

So... The sports season started last week,

Kana had his first rugby game last week...

and the girls had their first netball game today... Miss Muki played her first game ever today, she was hungry for the ball, running all over the place, hands in the air, jumping all over the place... she was awesome!

We've been enjoying the feijoas off our trees... YUM!

Our chapel has been undergoing some major reconstruction work to make it more earthquake proof... I drove past last week, the old steeple has come down and the new one is going up...

Hope all is going awesome for everyone...

My kids are doing a bit of modelling for some publications that work are doing.  The photographer is totally professional and I'm going to be watching him carefully
I can't wait to share those with you soon...

take care and "brrrrrrr" keep warm!!!

A Prayer for Beth

I met Utah-Beth over a year ago through my blog.  We became instant friends and have been in regular contact ever since.  On Monday she told me that she is sick... very sick and she is going into surgery tomorrow.  I want to ask everyone to say a prayer for Beth tonight and a couple more for her tomorrow.  I hope that Beth and her family feel the comfort of our prayers and know that people all over the world care for her heaps!!!

Lots of love and hugs and kisses my friend

CD Album Cover Image by... ME!!!

Last night I took my Mumma on a "Mum & Miss" date (me being the Miss) We went to a super extravaganza with the amazing Caii-Michelle Gordon at Te Wharewaka in Wellington.  It was a beautiful night in a stunning venue with awesome entertainment featuring Ms Caii herself...

Caii released her Mother's day album last night.  I Brought one and presented it to Mum for mother's day, she loves it too...

I am super honoured especially because the cover image is one that I took during my ANZAC day shoot with her! Caii also used an image inside the cover from our shoot as well and gave me a great little shout out.

It's really exciting and humbling to see my work being used and promoted in collaboration with a star like Caii...

check it out...

Have a listen to some of Caii's songs HERE.  No doubt we will hear more from Caii and I'll be sure to keep you up to date with what she's up too.

A Special Award Ceremony...

I know... another photography post you say?
Yes!  But I have just been so fortunate to have had some pretty cool photographic opportunities lately and I'm keen to share them with you...

Plus I like to add it here for my own records...

This shoot was super exciting for me because I had the opportunity to take shots of some NZ political celebrities.... how cool is that?  Super cool!

The Event:

A notable attendee:
Hon Dr Pita Sharples who gave an amazing opening address.

Photography:
Me... I felt extremely shy about using my flash in the grand hall during such an auspicious event.  I didn't want people distracted from the significance of the occasion because some crazy chick with a camera was shooting off a massive flash every 10 seconds.  So I spent quite a bit of time prior to the event adjusting settings on my camera inside the empty room.  Although this was really helpful, I still think that using the flash really would have helped with the quality of the shots, but overall I was ok with what I got.

Use of photos:  The photos will be used in promoting the scholarship all over the place... woohoo!

Last thoughts:  I am so inspired by the recipients of this years scholarship.  After the awards ceremony I felt like I could've totally quit my job and run off to study somewhere... you know to become a Doctor of Fine Arts or a Master of Design... lol... Whoa there!!!  Back it up Mrs C!  One day...

Anyway I wish them all the best in their amazing future endeavours and will be watching out for their imminent future successes... I'm so excited for them all, congratulations guys!

Take care
