Wait! What? It's Christmas Already???

Like seriously!

Where did that come from?

Christmas obviously put some super gorgeous sneaking shoes on and
fully snuck up behind me...

You'll be completely horrified to know that I don't have one
single Christmas present under the tree (unless you count the annual edible gift from the neighbours) and Christmas day is a mere 5 days away...

I feel like this is the most unorganised Christmas I have ever organised!

Things have not been ticking along as nicely as I would like them too in our house over the past few weeks. But putting all that aside...
lets get on with Christmas!!!

So here's what I'm doing to prepare for Christmas and I fully expect to be totally prepared within 24 hours...

  • Shops are open till midnight tonight... come 11.55pm I will be at the checkout of one of them with all gift shopping done!

  • Tomorrow morning I will sit down and write out the menu plan which will include BBQ, Roast and perhaps hangi'd meats, lots of salad and a ridiculous amount of whipped cream!

  • After a spot of garage sales, I'll hit the supermarket and shop for all the food on the list until the boot is simply bursting with goodies and all essential menu ingredients!!!

By the time I hit the hay tomorrow night Christmas will be sorted...
fingers, legs, toes and eyes... CROSSED!

Any-who... my Christmas gift to you is a showing of the wedding shoot from my whirlwind weekend to Dubbo, NSW, Australia at the beginning of the month...

I have picked a small selection of my personal favs to share with you.
I'm quite proud of them and I hope you like them.

Although this wedding was my first as the official "photographer", being a wedding photographer is something I definitely love.

I have found my creative outlet,
one that I will enjoy for many years to come...

NB: Mrs Fox and I split the bridal party and I ended up with the groomsmen hence the lack of bridesmaid picts... These guys were all "supermodels" in their own right... so fun and a fierce pleasure to work with, thanks guys xox

Have a safe and wonderful Christmas holiday season...
If I don't come and say hello before the new year
have a super awesome one...

4 Birthdays and a Wedding...

Hi everyone,
well today is my birthday YAY!!!
Unfortunately I have spent mostly all of it in bed feeling not very well at all.

I have 4 other friends who share my birthday so here is a shout out to each of them...

My twin sissy, Mrs K... we've been twins for 38 years!!!
Whoa!!!  That's a long time to look like someone... It s good thing that she is absolutely stunningly gorgeous, happy birthday my sissy xox

One of our besties, Miss Cindy... we met when were were about 5 years old and when we found out we share the same birthday, the 3 of us have been besties since.  Happy birthday Cindy xox

To Gabriel and Aporonia, great young friends of my children and our family... lots of love to you two and Happy birthday to us...

So as you know I just got back from Dubbo, Australia where I did my first wedding shoot... I loved it despite the 40+ degree heat.  So I've been slowly editing them one at a time and realising how much I love being a "photographer" and I want to do MORE!!!

Anyway here are a few sneak peeks for you from Ifie... I can't post any more till the bride and groom have seen them, but I'll let you know when they go up on this site here... Soul Photography

The Hobbit, The Prince & I...

Hey blog buddies!
These last few weeks have been super busy.  Lets see if I can break it down for you...

I met a Prince! In fact I met THE Prince... Prince Charles to be precise.  I even shook his hand and wished him a happy birthday.  Now, remember here where I said I'm not really a royalist?  Well I maintain that I'm not, like, I totally don't collect royal memorabilia and all that, but its not everyday you get to meet a prince let alone shake his hand... and jeepers it was an exciting experience...

I have two wonderful new friends from work, Lanz and Oti and it was Oti's idea to go down to where Charles & Camilla were walking along the beautiful Wellington waterfront during lunch.

We were extremely lucky to get front row spots and it was a definite "Woohoo" moment after we all shook his hand... in fact we were doing Hi-5's with our Prince Charles hand all the way back to the office...

The weather was stunning, showing the waterfront at its most beautiful...

So... there are perks to working in the city... tomorrow is the world premiere of The Hobbit! Woohoo! the city is totally buzzing with Hobbit excitement, I'm hoping I can pop down town at lunchtime to take in some of that excitement... and who knows maybe I'll spot another famous person for you...

Bye for now

Once upon a time... A true story...

So...

once upon a time...

...there was an excited young mumma who, wide-eyed and wondrous, would traipse through the beautiful and inspiring blogs that filled the technological-modern-day-miracle known as the world wide web.

As she visually feasted on the gorgeous vintage blogs and laughed at the humorous mummy blogs she pursed her lips and squinted her eyes and thought with a "hmmmmm"... "I can do this..." So in a curious and spontaneous manner, she decided that yes indeed she would start a blog "my very own little slice of the world wide web" she mused...

It began as a hobby, a place to record the weekly In's and outs of the adventure known as life.  Then it grew slowly, so so slowly, and it became an outlet for her creativity, her photography and her beloved thrift-shop finds.  She made wonderful new friends from all over the world and reconnected with old ones in this very town...

Then one day she got a new job...

...a job that was a located in a far away land called the City of Wellington.  She planned to buy an ipad and blog while she commuted between the green pastures of her rural hometown to the urban concrete jungle of the city, but alas, this is not yet to be...

So as she settles into the corporate world of high rises, busy buses and crammed lunchtime streets, and as she arrives home, just in time to spend that last hour or so of the day with her precious children and her spunky husband, she thinks about her little slice of the world wide web and misses it...

"There must be a way that I can visit here more regularly". she thinks as she prepares her tired imagination to fall into the unconsciousness of sleep... "I will find a way" she promises herself and she inhales deeply...  "but not tonight" she exhales with a sigh.

Her eyes fast close and she drifts into the dreamy delights of beauty and peace.  The cosy, warm snuggles of sleep arrive and then she is gone, having surrendered to the end of another day.

Ifie Lifey...

My first week at my new job was really good, it would have been even better if I didn't have to wake up so early to catch the train...

I'm so not a morning person... I'm more a night owl if anything and I'm really not so used to having to go to bed early.

I have a lot to learn at work, but I'm enjoying it...

here's the week from Ifie...

Sunrise through dirty windows on the train, my first train ride to work...

My first glimpse of the beautiful Lake Wairarapa from the train...
My desk...and someone clever emailed me the school newsletter...
The bay coming into Wellington....

My first walk at lunchtime through the streets below my building...

I was rewarded on Saturday with the arrival of my new shoes...

Hi Ho! It's off to work we go...

Well today was my 3rd official day, needless to say its been a tiring 3 days and the beautiful scenic train ride is quickly turning into that green thing on the other side of my closed eyelids lol!

I arrived home yesterday to a beautiful clean house, happy children, and a gorgeous Mr C's speciality Cottage Pie already for me to dig into... Then I joined Mr C and the kids down at the tennis courts to watch them bash some tennis balls about... so glad it's summer!

Here is my building (the big one)... its ALOT different from my last pretty little office...

Anywhooo.... This is just a quickie before I hit the sack, I am feeling those early mornings right now...

A Beautiful view...

We were very fortunate to spend a few days in Plimmerton where we were spoilt with a little bit of luxury living, with a little bit of  house-sitting for a friend...

Plimmerton boating club...
Our back yard...

Exploring fancy stairs...

The view from the bedroom window...

Our own little native bush walk... this calls for more family photos yay!

We did so many fun things in Plimmerton, Porirua and Wellington City...

Indoor go-cart racing in Porirua

Now it's countdown, only 3 more sleeps till I start my new job, we drove past my new building yesterday, the kids were like "whoaaaa!"

So... I've been pretty happy that I've been able to post so much over the holidays...  I've discovered something called "draft" post lol... I have a few waiting for you in the wings but after that, things might get a little bit sporadic around here... hopefully I can do a bit of blogging on the train... fingers crossed...
