Ifie Lifey...

My first week at my new job was really good, it would have been even better if I didn't have to wake up so early to catch the train...

I'm so not a morning person... I'm more a night owl if anything and I'm really not so used to having to go to bed early.

I have a lot to learn at work, but I'm enjoying it...

here's the week from Ifie...

Sunrise through dirty windows on the train, my first train ride to work...

My first glimpse of the beautiful Lake Wairarapa from the train...
My desk...and someone clever emailed me the school newsletter...
The bay coming into Wellington....

My first walk at lunchtime through the streets below my building...

I was rewarded on Saturday with the arrival of my new shoes...

Hi Ho! It's off to work we go...

Well today was my 3rd official day, needless to say its been a tiring 3 days and the beautiful scenic train ride is quickly turning into that green thing on the other side of my closed eyelids lol!

I arrived home yesterday to a beautiful clean house, happy children, and a gorgeous Mr C's speciality Cottage Pie already for me to dig into... Then I joined Mr C and the kids down at the tennis courts to watch them bash some tennis balls about... so glad it's summer!

Here is my building (the big one)... its ALOT different from my last pretty little office...

Anywhooo.... This is just a quickie before I hit the sack, I am feeling those early mornings right now...

A Beautiful view...

We were very fortunate to spend a few days in Plimmerton where we were spoilt with a little bit of luxury living, with a little bit of  house-sitting for a friend...

Plimmerton boating club...
Our back yard...

Exploring fancy stairs...

The view from the bedroom window...

Our own little native bush walk... this calls for more family photos yay!

We did so many fun things in Plimmerton, Porirua and Wellington City...

Indoor go-cart racing in Porirua

Now it's countdown, only 3 more sleeps till I start my new job, we drove past my new building yesterday, the kids were like "whoaaaa!"

So... I've been pretty happy that I've been able to post so much over the holidays...  I've discovered something called "draft" post lol... I have a few waiting for you in the wings but after that, things might get a little bit sporadic around here... hopefully I can do a bit of blogging on the train... fingers crossed...

Super Sunday...

I don't wear my cowboy boots as often as I'd like.  I find it actually takes quite a bit of extra effort to get an outfit together to go with them...
Today, I really wanted to wear them, to the point that I didnt really care if they matched or not lol!!! I was super happy with the overall look though... what do you think?
I love Trade Me, (similar to Craigs List, Ebay etc) I found this tunic on there, its so floaty and feminine.  Its a little too big but nothing a belt can't fix...
My black cardigan has pretty much become a signature style item for me (I have 2).
My skirt was scored at a Relief Society activity in Featherston, where all the ladies brought old wardrobe items and did a swaps evening.

What do you wear your cowboy boots with?

Melancholy Moment...

Well I just spent my last few hours at school.  When I finished I locked everything up, left my bunch of work keys in the drawer and walked out.

I can't describe the feeling but there is a definite measurement of melancholy, just a squeeze or two.  Anyway when I got outside I had a weird feeling of being 'unemployed'.  Which I'm not because I'm paid during the holidays... so technically, I won't be 'officially' unemployed till Saturday lol...

It really is the end of an era for me and the beginning of a challenging new adventure for the whole family... Keep an eye on this space people...

Vintage love - Thriftaholic...

A wee while ago I decided I loved vintage mirrors...
...then I went to a gorgeous little french cafe in Carterton and was super impressed with the vintage mirror collection displayed on almost every inch of their walls...
Today I found 2 vintage mirrors at a garage sale to add to my humble collection of 2.  My first mirror cost me 50c about 2 years ago, the second cost me $4 about a year ago and 'boy' talk about inflation... these 2 cost me $5 each, still a bargain I guess, they're pretty cute...

I think if I can find more vintage mirrors under $5 my collection will grow... I'll let you know how it goes...

I also picked up several vintage pillow slips at the same garage sale... as soon as they came off my clothesline they were on my pillows...

Party Dress...

I was pretty pleased with the outfit I threw together for the 40th birthday party on Friday... check it out...

This is a quick pict taken by my 6 year old, Miss Muki, as we rushed out the door to the party... hope you like Mr C's dirty work boots in the corner there haha!

I love this dress, I borrowed it from Miss Parnz's wardrobe while she wasn't looking lol!

My a 'Beautiful Mess' locket from 'Modcloth' is one of my fav accessories...

...and LOOK at the latest edition to my shoe collection... pretty pink El Naturalista's, an amazing score from Trade Me. (funny story that... I brought them and then realised a verrrrry good friend had listed them.... thank you friend!)They are so gorgeous, and super comfy! I managed to bust a few ladies lusting over them at the party too, I love that... and I love these... I hope you do too...

Changes and a birthday cake...

So... with my new job starting in a little over a week changes are a rife in the 'C' family.  I thought I would have a little change here at curves too... sorry, I still haven't got the hang of "template designs" and "backgrounds" so if you happen to be a "Blogger" expert please feel free to share some of your tips with me.

Last night our sister-in-law had her 40th birthday party.
Miss Manaia and I made the cake, between you and I, we were pretty proud of ourselves... check it out...

You can never go wrong with German Chocolate cake...

Yum-Oh!
